Bio

Daniele Davitti è nato a Firenze nel 1986.

Ha conseguito il diploma in Fashion design presso Polimoda Institute dove a oggi insegna.

Nel 2008 ha concluso il suo corso di studi in Giappone presso il Bunka Fashion college nella città di Osaka.

L’esperienza giapponese lo ha avvicinato al mondo dell’estetica Wabi-sabi , così come ai principi

etici del mottainai chiaramente visibili e rappresentati nella maggior parte delle sue opere.

Nel 2009, tornato in Italia, ha sviluppato il suo linguaggio con la prima mostra: “Dei Valori Perduti”.

Negli anni a venire si sono succedute mostre collettive e personali in Italia e all’estero tra cui la personale “Immaculate Decay” a New York nel 2013.

Nel 2016, un nuovo capitolo lo porta a Melbourne dove sarà professore di illustrazione al Whitehouse Institute of Fashion Design e dove si interessa al mondo della natura e della botanica..

Nel Settembre 2019, tornato in Italia, presenta la mostra “Mortalia Cura” una retrospettiva composta da tele, disegni e collages realizzati tra Asia, Europa, Australia ed America.

La mostra sarà anche un addio al mondo della pittura, lasciando spazio alla nuova fascinazione per il mondo dell’arte tessile e del ricamo a cui attualmente si dedica.

Nel 2024 Davitti è uno dei 50 artisti selezionati per esporre il proprio lavoro di arte tessile al “Contextile biennale” di Guimaraes in Portogallo.

Daniele Davitti was born in Florence in 1986.

He earned a diploma in Fashion Design from Polimoda Institute, where he currently teaches.

In 2008, he completed his studies in Japan at Bunka Fashion College in Osaka.

His Japanese experience brought him closer to the world of Wabi-sabi aesthetics, as well as the ethical principles of mottainai, which are clearly visible and represented in most of his works.

In 2009, upon returning to Italy, he developed his artistic language with his first exhibition: “Dei Valori Perduti”.

In the following years, he participated in various group and solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including the solo exhibition “Immaculate Decay” in New York in 2013.

In 2016, a new chapter took him to Melbourne, where he became a professor of illustration at the Whitehouse Institute of Fashion Design and developed an interest in nature and botany.

In September 2019, upon returning to Italy, he presented the exhibition “Mortalia Cura,” a retrospective consisting of canvases, drawings, and collages created across Asia, Europe, Australia, and America.

The exhibition also marked his farewell to the world of painting, making way for his new fascination with textile art and embroidery, which he currently pursues.

In 2024, Davitti is one of the 50 artists selected to exhibit their textile art at the “Contextile Biennial”, Guimaraes, Portugal.
